Client: (after the pitch and urgency message) It feels like you’re stabbing me with a dagger.
Me: Not a dagger… More like tickling you with a feather… The feather of opportunity!

Was fortunate to share some wonderful news with local businesses today… they were selected as finalists/winners of the valley-wide reader poll “Best of the Valley” recognizing the best of the best in a variety of categories. Do you think your favorite restaurant or home accessory store is on the list? Or is it the business next door you’ve been thinking of going into? Check it out the Best of the Valley issue of Desert Magazine located inside your Sunday Desert Sun Newspaper!

In the Field: Are you leading or following your clients?
Posted by theconnectedme under UncategorizedLeave a Comment
Lots of businesses get in the “reactionary rut” when it comes to unique times, especially in the Desert. What are you doing to prepare to secure that last bit of business before the “season” ends and summer begins? One of our clients is thinking ahead – they’re promoting their summer services today, knowing that they’ll catch those snowbirds still here, get a jump on their “busy season”, and earn revenue now before their schedules compact. How are you looking at the next 60 days? Here are three tips to consider – One, start prepping your customers now for any upcoming changes in services or products. Two, have a plan in place to continue communicating with your best customers — help remind them to take action! Three, look at what you have done in the past to communicate with your clients — is it time for a change? As they say “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”! Feel free to let me know what you’ve done to help “lead your clients”!
Best of luck in the field!

If you live in the Coachella Valley (Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indio, Coachella, etc…) or don’t, and want to fight child hunger, check this out:
Hello Friends & Colleagues,
As some of you may or may not know, I’ve been an active volunteer with Share Our Strength (SOS) for nearly 10 years. SOS is a national organization that works with celebrity chefs, restaurants, community organizations and local volunteers to STOP CHILDHOOD HUNGER. We are looking to build our volunteer committee in the Coachella Valley and I’m hoping you can help.
Please join me at our Kick Off meeting on Tuesday, March 31, at 6pm at Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa. I’m not asking for money, but hoping that you will help participate in the planning of our Second Annual “Tee Up for Hunger” golf tournament which will occur on October 27 at Rancho Las Palmas. It’s a fun event with golf, food, entertainment and auctions that helps to raise money for needy kids the valley.
Probably one of the saddest things in the world is a helpless child…a child that doesn’t have a choice and certainly does not choose to be HUNGRY. Food is the fuel for kids that allow them to learn, to play, to love and most importantly to be kids. We are blessed to have food on the table each day, but many kids are not. So let’s help!
Please let me know if you, or someone you know, will be able to join us this informational meeting next week. We will provide you with additional information about SOS, the Tee Up for Hunger tournament, and how it benefits the local community. With your help, we can get the word out about this great event and work to ensure that kids that won’t go hungry in our community.
All the best,
Polly Peak
